Welcome to Horsham Cycling Companions

STOP PRESS - 2019 Ride dates now underway!

About Us

We are a group of friendly cyclists who meet on Friday evenings during the summer for a leader organised, leisure ride of between 15 - 20 miles.

We set off at 6pm and arrive at the chosen local pub, not too far from Horsham for refreshment and food by 8pm. Most cyclists then remount their bikes at the end of the evening for the short ride home. Some leave a car at the pub.

Friday Rides

The "Friday Rides" take place every 2 - 3 weeks from late April to September making around ten summer rides in total each season.

We welcome cyclists of all abilities and each ride typically includes those on road bikes, hybrids and the occasional mountain bike.

Our Origins

The cycling group traces its origins back to the first ride over 25 years ago. As part of this tradition, the first ride each season takes place in late April with the destination being the Queen's Head in Barns Green, being close to Horsham for the return leg. The last ride of the season takes place in earlySeptember.

The "Friday Rides" started as a once a month event which took place on the Friday immediately after pay day for a group of cyclists who worked for the same employer in the town. Some of those "early riders" still cycle regularly on the "Friday Rides" today !
